LITTLE LINKERS / DIAMOND LEAGUE

Our popular Little Linker/Diamond League program begins on March 1 with a mandatory parent orientation.
Actual play begins March 8.

Play will be for eight (8) straight Sundays. Tee times fluctuate some, but we normally start play at 2:00. This program is for junior golfers who have the ability to hit the ball into the air and move it forward – in other words have played before or have had previous instruction.

The Diamond League is for players 13 through 17. These players will be playing from the adult tees here at Diamond Oaks.

The Little Linkers is for players 7 through 12. These players will play from one of two sets of tees. 7 – 9 play from the orange tees which are placed on the course just on Sundays. 10 – 12 play from the yellow tees (Diamond Tees). Younger players who display the ability to play from these tees may do so.

The last three weeks the players play under tournament criteria, i.e. they play on their own with no help from adults or other players. We take the low two out of three scores to determine championships for each age group.

The cost of this program is $199.

Come into the Diamond Oaks Pro Shop to register. For more information please contact Dale Smith at dpsmith14@yahoo.com .

Junior golfers under the age of 13 may be eligible, though prior instruction and/or experience is required, and participation in the program must be approved by the Director of Instruction.

The Junior Golf Academy at Diamond Oaks is designed to help all levels of junior golfers – beginners to the most advanced players and encompasses the following areas of the game:

  • Initial and on-going assessments
  • Individualized golf training program for each student
  • Twice weekly “supervised practice” with our instructional staff
  • Custom club-fitting, as needed
  • High speed video swing analysis
  • Launch monitor ball flight analysis
  • Weekly enhanced group golf fitness program
  • Opportunities to play the course with our instructional staff to build course management skills
  • Opportunities to play the course in 9-hole competitions

The monthly cost of $150 is due at the beginning of the month. If your child first enters the program after the first of the month, then the initial monthly cost will be pro-rated.

The program runs all year and meets twice weekly for supervised practice with our professional teaching staff. Currently we meet on the following days and times (holiday schedule may differ slightly):

  • Wednesdays 4:00-5:30 p.m. at Woodcreek GC (lighted driving range)
  • Sundays 3:00-4:30 p.m.

Sundays will have more of a golf course focus (based on course availability) with supervised practice being done on the course where we will concentrate on course management, risk versus reward decisions, and individual swing technique.

The application for this program can be obtained at the Pro Shop at Diamond Oaks. For more information please contact Kevin Estrella.

Girls Golf has come to Roseville

Girls Golf logo

Watch for the 2015 schedule of events, coming soon…

First up in April will be a field trip to see the Swinging Skirts Classic in SF. There are a lot of fun events in store this year. We will also have a Sat afternoon playing league for the girls.

Girls Golf provides girls ages 7 – 17 with the opportunity to learn to play golf, build lasting friendships, and experience competition in a fun, supportive, and girl-friendly atmosphere, while teaching them values that are inherent to the game.

Girls not only learn to play the game of golf, but they also discover life skills that inspire them to feel confident, build positive self-esteem and live active and healthy lifestyles through the “Five E’s of Girls Golf.”

Girls Golf is here in Roseville!

Roseville 9-Hole Golfers Casual League

This league is for the beginning-to-intermediate, or returning, player. If you are still working on your swing or are unable to hit the ball up in the air over 50 yards consistently then you are not ready for this league. (Stay tuned as I am trying to work on maybe a 5-hole play day for beginners).

To join,  go to meetup.com/Roseville-9-Hole-Golfers

The Meetup site is where you can RSVP if you will want to play in any event.

Most of the information is on the site, but if you have any questions, please send me an email, a text, or call me. I look forward to having you join us!
